Congradulations to Ed Snell for becoming Angler of the Year for the 2010/2011 year. Also, James Lara runner up AOY, Sal Nares for Top Non-Boater, Phil Haines for Big Stringer and Danny Payne for Big Fish. We are adding a new award this year it is the Ed Cusick Sportsmanship award. The first person to receive this award is Ed Cusick. Please read below for more details.
10/11 Angler of the Year
Ed Snell has done something that hasn't been done in 7 years. He beat Victor Allen and become AOY. Victor had held that title for the last 7 years a feat not likely to be repeated. Ed won with a total weigh of 121 lbs and 1.5 oz, that's an average of over10 lbs a tournament. Taking the runner up AOY title is James Lara with a weight 112 lbs and 3 oz. The Top Non-boater award goes to Sal Nares with 93 lbs and 15.5 oz. Phil Haines had big stringer with 17 lbs and Danny Payne had big fish with a 6 lb 6 oz largemouth. New this year is the Ed Cusick memorial award for sportsmanship. As many know Ed passed away this year. It is only fitting that the 1st award would go to the man, that this award is all about Ed Cusick.
09/10 Club Team Tourny
The 2010/2011 end of the season team tournament is now history. For the 2nd year in a row the tournament wes held at Diamond Valley. Everyone caught fish and had a great time. The team of Victor Allen and Joey Grisalva won. Second place was Bob Hardy and Lino Bassi and, fishing solo and taking 3rd was Ed Snell. For more details see the September newsletter.
11/12 Angler of the Year
With almost half the year in the books the standings are as follows. Ed Snell still holds onto a small lead over Bradley Yang. Victor Allen is in third about 6 lbs out. From there it drops off pretty fast. With only one winter tournament until we hit that magical time Spring. Look for things to change as the season does.
